What is VoIP?
VoIP, also known as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), is a technology that allows you to make telephone calls using a broadband Internet connection instead of a regular (or analog) phone line.
VoIP converts the voice signal from your telephone into a digital signal that travels over the Internet. If you are calling a regular phone number, the signal is then converted back at the other end. Internet Voice can allow you to make a call directly from a computer, a special VoIP phone, or a traditional phone using an adapter. If you make a call using a phone with an adapter, you'll be able to dial just as you always have and your friend is able to reach you via your PSTN (normal phone line) number or number provided by your VoIP provider.

What are some Myths on the use of VoIP?
Myth #1: VoIP is not widely used
Traditional PSTN lines are still commonly used but it is not going to be long. It is not going to be “if VoIP” will become a standard of how phone calls are made but “when VoIP” will become a standard of how phone calls are made.
It is no longer a question of whether VoIP will wipe out traditional telephony but how quickly it will do so.
Info-Tech Research estimates that 50% of the SMB in the USA will be using VoIP by 2008 and McKinsey Consulting is predicting similar proportion for UK.
According to the Gartner Group, VoIP will be used by more than 95% of major companies by 2010.

Myth #2: The cost benefits only applied when calling between 2 similar VoIP systems
This is totally not true. The cost benefits applied to all VoIP phone calls to a VoIP system, local residential lines, local mobile phones, overseas residential lines as well as oversea mobile phone calls. For the Kazil World Phone VoIP we are using, members to members calling are totally free.

Myth #3: Voice Quality is bad
Some legacy and low end VoIP systems do not deliver high quality sound for example; bits of words are missing, noticeable gaps when a person speaks. This is no longer an issue now.VoIP adapter 102 comes with an inbuilt DSP (Digital Signal Processor) and the voice quality is very clear with no echo at all.

Myth #4: VoIP is complicated
VoIP is not as confusing as it sounds. For small businesses or even home consumers, what you need to do is just a VoIP account. This VoIP account will allow the user to make phone calls through software in your PC and you will be able to make phone calls through your PC.
You can also make use of your existing analog phone to make VoIP phone calls. With the VoIP adapter 102, you do not need to switch on your PC. You can make VoIP phone calls using your existing phone. If the local calls are cheaper through PSTN lines, this can be easily switched by using the VoIP adapter 102. This means that VoIP adapter 102 allow users to make and received both PSTN and VoIP phone calls without the use of buying a special phone and without the use of PC.
