Considering the many websites that are available on the World Wide Web, how do you actually get people to visit your website? Therefore, generating traffic to your website is very important as it means generating more sales enquiries, sales as well as awareness of your company or business.

In this article, I will mention some ways which you can get more visitors to your site and this means more prospects and sales to your business. However, the best strategy is to use as many methods as possible.

  1. Cross links – This means you look for sites which generate high hits rate and suggest to them to add your links to their site and in returns, you add their links to yours. This is good as its effective and is free.
  2. Ezine marketing – Ezines are a good way to get hits. Normally this would involve putting a paid advertisement in the ezine. However, there are so many different types of ezines available. However, it is important to do research in this area to see which ezines are popular before investing into ezines.

 
  1. Newsletter – Another good way of generating hits to your site is by coming up with interesting articles that will attract visitors. Try to submit your articles to as many article directories as possible. When you have your articles, you can come up with your newsletter offering valuable knowledge to the public.
  2. E-mail – Email is a very good way to generate hits to your site. Always try to use emails as a mean to bring information such as newsletter across to your contacts. However, please do not spam.
  3. Get your website listed in the major search engines – If you can get your site listed in the major search engines, this means that visitors have the chance of searching your site via the search engines and this means more potential hits to your website.
  4. Spiral marketing – Try to sell your website via your mouth, name cards, letterheads and any promotional materials related to your website and vice versa. They will only visit your website only if they know that such website existed.
